Making Art,Work,For Artists.

SLTR is the brain child of Ruth Herbert. Ruth has been an artist her whole life. With a degree in Contemporary Art Practice and a Post Grad Diploma in Fine Art, Ruth started tattooing in Brighton in 2009, opening her first studio, Love The Rock Tattoo in 2013. LTRT closed in 2016 when Ruth took some time out and moved to France. 
Ruth opened Studio Love The Rock in October 2019 with fresh ideas, renewed vigour and a strong idea for a new type of tattoo studio.
"As well as a tattoo studio, I want to create a place open to all artistic disciplines and to promote creativity in all it's forms."

For Tattooing.

We follow strict, hospital grade, hygiene practices at SLTR. We want you to be comfortable, relaxed and SAFE.
We will always talk you through the process and any concerns you may have and help you to work out the best possible design and placement we can.

For Art.

When you come through the door into Studio Love The Rock, you enter the gallery space. With regular exhibitions and showcases from up and coming artists to more established names from all disciplines. Aiming to be always inspiring and thought provoking, We're excited to be able to bring new art to Lancaster and to support local artists

  • Clean and sterile.

    We use single-use disposable needles and tubes for every tattoo, follow strict hygiene practice and use hospital grade disinfectants before and after every tattoo. 

  • Professional attitude.

    We take your tattoo seriously. We want you to be relaxed during your appointment, and happy afterwards. We strive to create a welcoming and uplifting alternative to the traditional tattoo studio. Whether it's your first piece of ink or you're filling in that last gap on the back of your knee, everyone is welcome.

  • Aftercare guidance.

    Keeping your tattoo clean and moisturized is very important. We provide all the guidance you need for proper tattoo aftercare. 

  • Modern tools.

    We use the most modern tools to provide you with a clean, sterile, and healthy experience. No cutting corners, no shortcuts.
